BioAgri Garden garden film is an excellent solution for protecting gardens against weeds. It biodegrades in the soil, has a defined lifetime, film residue is absorbed into the soil and is an effective alternative to traditional plastic film.
What is BioAgri? BioAgri is a certified biodegradable mulch film and is ideal for use in agriculture or landscaping. It is made from a raw material obtained by complexing corn starch with biodegradable polyesters. BioAgri mulch film is an efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional plastic film, both agronomically and environmentally. It has a lower impact on the environment and allows users to save time, money and resources.
Advantages of BioAgri mulch film
BioAgri film has the same mechanical properties and can be used for the same applications as traditional plastic films. This has been proven by more than 15 years of research, development and use in these fields. The advantages of BioAgri include the following areas: • It can be laid and perforated with the same equipment used for traditional plastic film; • No soil pollution, no accumulation of plastic pieces, no microplastics; • Increased soil temperature; • Accelerates germination and cultivation cycles; • Reduced or discontinued use of herbicides and pesticides; • Preserves moisture in the soil, reduces water consumption; • Protects against erosion caused by rain or wind; • Prevents direct contact of fruits and vegetables with the soil; • No field removal required and no waste disposal fees. Storage BioAgri mulch films are recommended to be used in the same season as they are delivered. BioAgri mulch film rolls should always be stored inside their original packaging, away from water, light and direct heat sources. Properly stored rolls can be used the next season. If the BioAgri roll is not in its original packaging, it is recommended to keep it upright to avoid flattening, deformation or breakage. Accidental damage resulting from improper handling, material storage, or transportation can adversely affect film performance in the field. If possible, any damaged film should be removed prior to use.
Certified biodegradability and compostability
The BioAgri materials developed and used for the production of mulch film fully meet the requirements of national and international standards for biodegradability and compostability. BioAgri is certified as biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432 and ASTM D-6400 together with OK biodegradable SOIL. BioAgri also complies with EN17033. Note that the biodegradation and composting time of BioAgri film in the field depends on many parameters such as soil type, weather, film stress and damage, and post-harvest tillage.
